A mythological bird, the phoenyx represents REBIRTH, TRANSFORMATION and NEW BEGINNINGS.
To many a Phoenyx may represent a new beginning, that no matter how bad (hot) things may get you will get back up on your feet (rise out of the ashes).
This beautiful bird is said to periodically burn itself to death and emerge from the ashes as a new phoenyx, a symbol of life, death and re-birth. According to most beliefs, only one phoenyx lives at a time and it renews itself every 500 years.
The Phoenyx always rises from its own ashes. It can be a metaphor for always picking yourself up when you are down. The name of this mythical bird comes from Greek, meaning red, purple.
Birds can fly and travel through the element of Air, they have been, since ancient times, Symbolic representations of mind and Spirit. Therefore, when the Phoenyx “gives up” its old and completed self, it does so because it is ready to be transformed and reborn unto a much higher realm. The Phoenyx Symbolizes the ultimate Act of Creative Destruction, Sacrifice, and rebirth within the sublime realm of mind and Spirit.
